A Narrative Universe without Limits: more than a band, a Saga.

Since its formation by Christopher Bowes (Alestorm), Gloryhammer does not just release albums: the band builds a transmedia franchise, a true space opera on steroids where the kitsch of the 80s meets modern musical virtuosity. Each member embodies a key character — from Prince Heir Angus McFife to the Grand Master of the Knights of Crail — transforming each concert into an epic theater piece.

The plot, which fans dissect like a cult series, revolves around the millennia-long struggle between the McFife lineage and the immortal wizard Zargothrax. The latter, imprisoned in liquid ice and then released in a distant future, has one goal: to summon the demons of chaos to rule over intergalactic Scotland.

The band's universe took a decisive turn with the release of the cult album “Legends from Beyond the Galactic Terrorvortex” (2019). Remember: after Earth was pulverized by the nuclear explosion at the heart of the Hootsman, Angus McFife XIII had to dive into a dimensional rift to track down Zargothrax, his sworn enemy. A journey that took them from the "Land of Unicorns" to a battle for eternity, all carried by grand symphonic orchestrations.

From the Terror of the Vortex to the Return to the Kingdom

After surviving the Terrorvortex, the band struck hard in 2023 with the album “Return to the Kingdom of Fife.” This fourth opus marked a return to narrative roots while pushing the production sliders even further: faster riffs, nuclear energy, and an ever more immersive storytelling.

Gloryhammer has proven that it is not just a parody, but a musical war machine capable of uniting legions of fans around anthems in praise of the Astral Hammer.

May 2025: A New Quest Begins

As the dust from previous battles barely settles, Gloryhammer gives no respite to its warriors. In May 2025, the band strikes again with the single: “On a Quest for Aberdeen.”

True to their DNA, this new title is an epic ride through the lands of Scotland (or their futuristic and alternative version). If the power of this new track is to be believed, the galaxy must prepare for new tremors. Has Angus McFife discovered a new ancestral threat hidden in the granite of Aberdeen? Has Zargothrax cloned an army of space goblins again?

Seeing Gloryhammer at a festival is to accept losing touch with reality. Between polymer armor costumes, inflatable hammer battles in the audience, and laser sword duels on stage, the entertainment is total.
