About Trolls & Légendes (ASBL)
Trolls & Légendes is a Belgian non-profit organization. Our goal is clear - to promote and support the arts of the imagination (fantasy, fantastic) and to make this culture accessible to as many people as possible, without forgetting the sense of hospitality.
We work with a team of volunteer organizers, many volunteers during the events, and partners who help us bring the project to life. The Trolls & Légendes festival and the Estivales are our highlights, but the association is not limited to a single event.

Our mission
Since the beginning, we have operated on a non-profit basis. Our mission is to promote the arts of the imagination and to give visibility to those who bring them to life - authors, illustrators, musicians, artisans, storytellers, and speakers. We also aim to create moments of encounter between the public and the creators, in a respectful and friendly environment.
We invest a lot of energy to offer warm, open, and intergenerational events. It is a collective effort, driven by passion, organization, and sometimes by very concrete logistics.
Our actions
The ASBL organizes the Trolls & Légendes festival in Mons, at the Lotto Mons Expo. This is our main event, bringing together literature, comics, music, games, crafts, animations, and meetings.
We also organize the Estivales de Trolls & Légendes, a free one-day event in Mons during the summer, which extends the spirit of the festival in a lighter format.
Furthermore, we collaborate with artists, artisans, and service providers from Belgium and beyond. We prioritize quality, cultural coherence, and the welcoming conditions for the public, while taking into account the real constraints of an event of this scale.
The Trolls & Légendes festival, the main cultural action of the ASBL
The festival features a fantastic book fair, a craft market, folk and fantasy metal concerts, role-playing games and board games, children's animations, exhibitions, films and short films, and meetings with authors, illustrators, storytellers, actors, and creators. Each edition takes place at the Lotto Mons Expo, in Mons, over the Easter weekend and is aimed at both enthusiasts and families who wish to discover the culture of fantasy.
Since its creation, Trolls & Légendes has been supported by a non-profit ASBL. Our ambition is to promote the arts of the imagination and to build an accessible, inclusive, and welcoming event. The organizers and the hundreds of volunteers are consistently and seriously committed, and, it must be said, with a good supply of coffee.
The festival is also a local cultural and economic player. We work with many artisans, artists, and service providers, in Belgium and elsewhere. We emphasize quality craftsmanship, respect for the environment, accessibility for people with reduced mobility, and welcoming families. This is reflected in our continuous attention to the layout of the venues, the diversity of activities offered, and free admission for children under 12.
Trolls & Légendes is also a community. Over the years, thousands of festival-goers, creators, and participants have contributed to making the festival an important meeting point for fantasy in Europe. Alongside the main festival, the ASBL also organizes the Estivales de Trolls & Légendes, a completely free day in Mons that extends the festive atmosphere at the heart of summer.

Our values
We advocate for a simple approach, quality hospitality, a respectful environment, a real place for families, and an event where everyone can feel comfortable.
We pay particular attention to accessibility for people with reduced mobility, the diversity of activities, local anchoring, and environmental impact. Finally, we strive to highlight creators and craftsmanship, which are an integral part of the identity of Trolls & Légendes.
How to support the association
Supporting Trolls & Légendes does not only mean contributing financially. The first form of support remains volunteer engagement, which is essential to the organization.
Partnerships are also important, whether they are financial, logistical, technical, or related to communication, and they can be tailored to fit.
It is also possible to help us by sharing our information, talking about the festival and the Estivales around you, or by participating in the events. These public highlights allow the ASBL to continue its mission.
