Board games, role-playing games and miniatures
In the Games Area of Trolls & Légendes in Mons, you can sit down at a table, have the rules explained to you and start a game. You will find board games and party games, role-playing games, miniatures and escape games. You can come with your family, with friends or on your own, for a first discovery or to meet other players.
Introductory sessions of Blood on the Clocktower are planned, along with other activities currently in preparation. The programme of role-playing sessions and presentations by guests and exhibitors will be added to this page as they are confirmed.
Discoveries and introductory sessions are freely accessible within the festival. Just remember to go to the registration table for role-playing sessions.
Sit down and play
The volunteers will explain the rules of games you do not know. Take a seat at a table to try out a game, take part in an introductory session or discover what the publishers have to offer.
Major publishers stand alongside smaller organisations. Some present the games of the moment or their upcoming releases; others introduce you to lesser-known titles. This diversity allows you to move from a party game to a more strategic one, depending on what you feel like playing.
Join a role-playing game
To take part in a role-playing game, go to the registration table. You can join a session that is about to start or reserve your place for later in the day.
Game masters from clubs in the region run the sessions. They invite you to take on a character and build an adventure with the other players. Introductory sessions help beginners take their first steps; regular players can discover other games and meet new tablemates.
Meet the creators and browse the stands
The Games Area welcomes authors and illustrators with whom you can discuss their creations. The conversations continue around the tables, during demonstrations and introductory sessions.
As you browse the stands, you will find board games, role-playing games and miniatures, as well as dice, trading cards and other accessories. You can also discover the escape game offerings. This variety is part of the area's identity: you can come for a game and, a few tables further on, take an interest in an activity you know less well.
Play with miniatures and have a go at painting
Miniatures have their place in the Games Area, both for playing and painting. You can have a go at painting miniatures and discover the work of other enthusiasts.
For 2027, the team wants to give more space to miniature games, with an area dedicated to them.
The miniature painting competition will be launched in December 2026.
