The Manga Hub of Trolls & Legends is the meeting point between fantasy culture and the imagination from Japan. Long perceived as “Japanese comics,” mangas are now a pillar of global pop culture, read and loved well beyond the borders of Japan. They explore all genres – adventure, science fiction, horror, romance… and of course fantasy, in all its forms.
In just a few decades, manga and anime have become global icons, driven by series like One Piece, Naruto, or Demon Slayer, and by the rise of streaming platforms and international publishing. They have profoundly influenced the aesthetics, narrative codes, and worlds of modern fantasy, in Europe and beyond.
Trolls & Legends was born around fantasy: secondary worlds, mythical creatures, heroic epics, magic, reinvented myths. However, a large part of today’s manga production precisely fits within these themes.
Here you will find:
Manga thus offers a different perspective on fantasy: Japanese and Western influences intersect, reinterpreting medieval castles, monsters, deities, and legends through a unique graphic and narrative lens. For many readers, especially younger ones, the first contact with fantasy actually comes through manga and anime, even before novels or video games.
Integrating a Manga Hub at Trolls & Legends is therefore to acknowledge that fantasy culture is now transmedia (novels, comics, manga, games, series, anime…), welcoming a generation for whom manga = gateway to the imagination and creating bridges between authors of “classic” fantasy and creators from animation and manga.
The Manga Hub is designed as a space for discovery and encounters around Japanese creation (and its influences) related to fantasy in the broadest sense.
You can find authors, artists whose work draws from the codes of manga and anime, specialized publishers, booksellers, and stands dedicated to fantasy in manga, signing sessions, discussions around universes (isekai, dark fantasy, reimagined myths, post-apocalyptic, etc.), and activities, workshops, or exhibitions around drawing, character design, or adapting fantasy worlds into manga style.
The goal is not just to “show manga,” but to demonstrate how manga fully participates in fantasy culture today, on par with novels, European comics, or role-playing games.
Below you will find the complete line-up of the Manga Hub 2026.
Guests, participants will be gradually added as announcements and confirmations are made.
