🎶 Music Hub - The beating heart of Trolls & Legends
When we talk about Trolls & Legends, music is not an "extra": it is one of the historical engines of the festival. Since 2005, concerts have been part of the event's DNA, alongside literature, games, and crafts. Over the editions, the festival has established itself as a major meeting point for the folk, medieval, pagan, and metal scenes in the French-speaking part of Europe.
From April 3 to 5, 2026 in Mons, the Pôle Musique brings the imagination to life: pagan hymns, enchanting folk, epic riffs, medieval atmospheres, and cinematic flights will resonate with the audience from the first to the last night, on the Main Stage in the evening, and on the Scène Découverte during the day - then again in the evening.
🌘 From shadow to light: a program like a journey
In the spirit of the 2026 edition - "From shadow to light" - the musical program is constructed as a scripted journey. It traverses misty, tribal, or introspective atmospheres, before gradually shifting towards moments of pure catharsis, where a chorus sung by the entire hall or a finale of drums and bagpipes transforms the concert into a collective ritual.
The main evenings highlight the headliners - in 2026, bands like Gloryhammer, Kalandra, The SIDH, FAUN orMagoyond on the main stage - but the experience is not limited to these major events.
During the day, more intimate acts perform on the Scène Découverte (Festival area). In the evening, this same stage also hosts part of the concert programming, alternating with the Main Stage.
🕯️ A musical story made of discoveries and returns
Over the years, Trolls & Légendes has hosted bands that are now among the references of the folk / pagan / medieval / metal scene: Corvus Corax, Faun, Omnia, Urban Trad,Naheulband, Eluveitie, Tanzwut, Korpiklaani, Wardruna,Magoyond, Skàld, Eivor, Paddyhats, Miracles of Sound, Wind Rose, Saltatio Mortis, Heidevolk, Blackbiar, and many others have succeeded one another in the various editions, contributing to shaping the festival's sound identity.
For some, the festival has been one of the first major contacts with the Belgian audience or a pivotal moment in their journey; for others, it is a place of regular return, almost a "home stage" where they find a loyal, masked, costumed audience, ready to sing every chorus. Reports and reviews dedicated to Trolls & Legends regularly highlight this very particular blend of quality of the lineup, family atmosphere, and fantasy context, which is rarely found elsewhere. Peek-a-Boo Magazine
This musical memory makes the Music Hub a true common thread between editions: people return to discover new lineups, but also because they know that certain encounters, certain songs, certain stage images can only exist there.
🎤 Experience music "Trolls & Legends style"
On stage, the experience is always lived on multiple levels. There are the big evening concerts, with their scenography, light shows, projections, armor, drums, and choirs, designed to gather an entire crowd in a single gesture. And there are the closer moments: a chorus sung by a few dozen, a nyckelharpa solo in dim light, a bard making the audience sing without a microphone, a band coming down into the pit at the end of their set.
The uniqueness of Trolls & Legends is to hold together these two scales: the spectacular nature of a headliner show, and the intimacy of a concert that feels almost "around the fire," but in a festival hall. For both artists and the audience, this creates a very special relationship, blending the energy of large festivals with the warmth of an event shaped by and for the communities of the imagination.
