Biography and career

Elodie Chardon is an author and illustrator from Bordeaux. Inspired from a very young age by the writing of Pierre Bottero, Timothée de Fombelle and Alain Damasio, she develops speculative-fiction stories that are both sensitive and committed. In July 2025, she won the Nos Futurs #3 competition run by Hachette Romans for her first novel, L'Arche ou le dernier rêve d'Iris.

For this 2027 edition, the literature department is therefore pleased to introduce you to this young speculative-fiction author.

L'Arche ou le dernier rêve d'Iris

What is it about?

It is an ecological dystopian novel. An unknown land of the future where rising waters threaten to make the last habitable lands disappear. In this world in crisis, Noé, the top student at the country's most prestigious school for inventors, desperately searches for a way to migrate humanity and save as many people as possible. His encounter with Iris, a new student with a disturbing approach to dreams, could well be the key he was missing.

Who will enjoy this novel?

If you enjoyed novels such as Hunger Games, Le Labyrinthe or La Passe-Miroir for their immersive worlds and their heroes facing challenges beyond them, be curious and discover L'arche ou le dernier rêve d'Iris. This novel skilfully blends science, ecology and imagination.

So, ready to dream?
