Damien Galisson returns to Trolls & Légendes with his second novel, Celui qui hantait le manoir. He made his 2023 appearance memorable by winning the Troll d'or Littérature for literature with his first novel, La Dragonne et le drôle. An unusual young adult fantasy novel that is both epic and poetic, it won over the festival.

Biography and career

Damien Galisson was born and lives near Poitiers. After publishing two books for very young children, he won the Émergences 2018 competition (La Charte). Damien Galisson is a multifaceted artist, musician and writer. He creates a universe populated by sensitive characters. A lyricist and singer with the post-hardcore band Tanen, and later Couleuvrine, he wrote his first fantasy novel in free verse. La Dragonne et le Drôle (Sarbacane 2022). In 2023, La Dragonne et le Drôle received the Grand Prix de l'Imaginaire / French-language young adult novel category, the Imaginales award / young adult category, and the Troll d'or Littérature / literature category.
His second novel, Celui qui hantait le manoir, is a fantastical and intriguing young adult novel, brimming with sensitivity, much like Camille, the story's heroine. Once again, Damien Galisson's writing captures readers' attention. The title was awarded the prizes des Dévoreurs de livres - 2026-2027 selection, Year 10 level, and the prix Pierre Bottero - 2027 selection.
