L'Alchymiste - Artisanal liqueur maker

Based in Fleurus, in Wallonia, L'Alchymiste is an artisanal liqueur workshop run by Olivier and Judicaël. The house creates aperitifs and distinctive beverages from carefully selected wines, plants, fruits, spices and honey. Their work aims above all to spark curiosity, conversation and the pleasure of sharing around accessible, yet never banal, recipes.

Its universe draws as much from old recipes and medieval history as from family memories, fantastical creatures and otaku culture. L'Hypocras, the Clairet, the Saugée and the Mauretum thus continue ancient traditions, while Le Petit Dragon opens a door to a more contemporary imagination. Inspired by the Latin word *dracunculus*, which refers to tarragon and means 'little dragon', this white aperitif with tarragon, honey and lemon naturally links the work of plants, taste and storytelling.

L'Alchymiste approaches liqueur-making with a cook's eye. Each recipe is constructed through tasting, adjusting proportions and seeking a balance between freshness, sweetness, spice, bitterness and length on the palate. Real plants, fruits and spices are processed in small batches, with no artificial flavorings or preservatives. The macerations take time, then the blends are refined until a coherent result is achieved, both in the glass and in the story associated with the product.

At Estivales 2026, visitors will be able to discover the house's available creations, notably the Hypocras, the Saugée, the Clairet, the Mauretum and Le Petit Dragon. Tastings will allow them to understand their profiles and ingredients. Olivier and Judicaël will also be present to tell the origins of the recipes, explain how they work and converse with the curious about the craft, ancient traditions and the imaginaries that nourish L'Alchymiste.
