Julia COLIN - Passer la brume (novel, ecological fantasy)

Julia COLIN - Au-delà de la brume

Between mountain, mist and survival: discover Vair, heroine of an ecological tale with a Miyazaki-like sensibility.

Biographie & parcours :

Julia Colin was born in Toulouse and lives in Normandy. She is a director and screenwriter and has always hoped to find the time to write her own stories. When that time finally came, she wrote Avant la forêt, her first novel published by Les forges de Vulcain.

She also contributes to the short story anthology Vulcain, also published by Les forges de Vulcain. Populated by offbeat characters and surprising stories, eighteen tales sketch an unprecedented portrait of Vulcain. Vulcain, the god of artisans, the black sheep of Olympus and much more. Eighteen authors thus compose, together, an ode to creation, imagination and writing.

Julia Colin is a French author with a finely honed pen. She is coming for the first time to Trolls & Légendes to present her latest novel Passer la brume, an ecological tale with a strong and atypical female lead. Her world recalls Nausicaä and Princesse Mononoké by Hayao Miyazaki. It will appeal to a wide readership who enjoy sensitive fantasy but will also reach young adult readers.

The illustrations by Dari Gatti, who will also be present for signings alongside Julia Colin, reinforce the immersion in the story.

Focus on Passer la brume :

Vair has always lived in the mountain; she is used to surviving. Every day, the young woman ventures along perilous paths and serves as a guide to people
who are trying to return to the plains to escape the Mist.
One day, as she is about to accompany a new group of refugees, she spots a campfire in the distance. She is the only one who lives in the area. She alone knows how to shake off the Mist. Vair finds herself facing a dangerous dilemma: should she take the risk of going to see who this mysterious survivor is?
After Avant la forêt, Julia Colin delivers a new ecological tale with the feel of Miyazaki films, blending adventure and survival.
