The artist's journey
Fabrice Angleraud was born on September 18, 1968, in Neuvic-Entiers (Haute Vienne). He spends two years at the École nationale des arts décoratifs in Limoges, where he feels out of place. He then decides to put down his pencils at the École des beaux-arts in Angoulême, specifically in the comic strip section. He graduates three years later, in 1992.
He is then contacted to ink The Chronicles of the Black Moon (Dargaud), but the proposal does not materialize, as Olivier Ledroit stops the series. In 1993, after a few advertising commissions, he chooses to start a technical training in animation at CFT Gobelins.
At the same time, he meets the screenwriter Froideval, who offers him to work with him. He then begins to draw Atlantis (Zenda), the first volume of which is released in 1997. The second volume follows in 1997 and the last one the following year.
Between 2001 and 2005, he illustrates the four episodes of Magika (Zenda), a series imagined by Franck Tacito. In 2005, he also signs, with Froideval, volume 2 of Harkhanges (Albin Michel).
In 2007, he draws volume 2 of The Arcanes of the Black Moon (Dargaud, 2007), another series by Froideval. Finally, starting in 2011, he becomes the illustrator of The Chronicles of the Black Moon (Dargaud), a cornerstone of Froideval's work.
