Capia, a Belgian illustrator, presents for the first time at Trolls & Légendes, blending fairy tale, uchronia, and sensuality - illustrator on Le Paris des Merveilles (Drakoo)
Biography & background
Capia, an artist from Liège, has had a pencil in hand for as long as she can remember. A fan of animation, rock music, and chocolate, she developed a passionate love for comics early on. She draws her inspiration from various forms of art, following her moods and desires. Her universe is generally whimsical and varied, oscillating between nature, mythologies, fairy tales, and uchronias, sprinkled with a touch of humor and sensuality (and more if the chemistry is right).
After an artistic curriculum at the Saint-Luc institutes with a focus on comics, she will scour festivals and literary fairs for several years, armed with her portfolios of drawings. She was thus approached by the publishing house Galet, which published her very first work in the form of an illustrated story, entirely created by the author: Astérion.
After a professional and then parental break, she was contacted by the publishing house Drakoo to take over a project left pending by the late Etienne Willem: Le Paris des Merveilles. Capia's drawing is aesthetic and appealing. She has taken on the challenge of continuing the work initiated by Étienne Willem on Le Paris des Merveilles, with her own "graphic personality." Her style integrates harmoniously with the whole, ensuring a smooth and coherent transition.

About: Le Paris des Merveilles (excerpt)
Welcome to the Paris of Wonders! We are in 1909, in the Paris of Wonders. Investigating the murder of an apparently unremarkable antique dealer, Louis Denizart Hippolyte Griffont, mage and gentleman, crosses paths with an evil sorcerer, the formidable Giacomo Nero. A case that recalls another, in the 18th century, in France. At that time, the Otherworld was not known, Griffont was a dashing cavalry captain, and he was soon to meet Isabel de Saint-Gil, a renegade fairy and masked vigilante in her spare time.
