The Swedish folk metal band MÅNEGARM, founded in 1995, is considered a pioneer of the Viking/pagan/folk metal genre in Sweden. In this multifaceted sound universe, MÅNEGARM blends pagan-inspired lyrics based on Norse mythology with music that spans a wide spectrum from black metal elements to powerful and catchy anthems, evoking a majestic atmosphere, enhanced by acoustic interludes featuring guitar and violin melodies.

MÅNEGARM was founded by three friends in 1995 in Norrtälje, Sweden, under the name Antikrist. Very quickly, they changed their name to the one we know today. It refers to the wolves Managarm (Sköll and Hati) who, at the time of Ragnarök, devour the moon and the sun. After 30 years of career and 11 albums, we can say that the band has come a long way since its beginnings. They have been signed for many years to the label Napalm Records, participated in Hellfest 2018 and 2025, and even created their own festival in Sweden: the MÅNEGARM Open Air. An event dedicated to themes that are close to their hearts.

Their latest album, released in August 2025, titled "Edsvuren," does not deviate from their winning formula. True to form, the band manages to satisfy both fans of wild pagan tracks and those who prefer the gentleness of folk. The album is carefully paced, alternating explosive passages with moments of reflection.
