Det Var

Det Var is a Nordic folk and world music project, founded in 2020 by Thomas Annson and Johan Henser.

Inspired by Nordic culture, the project Det Var emphasizes the use of traditional instruments and percussion from Northern Europe. Their singing, evoking contemplation and wisdom, draws inspiration from ancient texts to engage with the present. Their first self-titled EP, released in January 2022, brought them out of the shadows. Eager to quickly share their compositions live, Johan and Thomas surrounded themselves with other talented musicians to offer each performance an interpretation as authentic and organic as possible.

Det Var means in Swedish "it was". It reflects the group's inspiration from traditional Nordic culture.
