Jean-Laurent DEL SOCORRO - Les Amants du Ragnarök : Une Épopée de Mythes et de Destins

Jean-Laurent Del Socorro is a French writer of historical fantasy. He received the Elbakin.net award for his first novel, Kingdom of Wind and Wrath, the Imaginales Librarians' award for his second novel, Boudicca. And finally, the Babelio 2020 award for his novel I Am a Daughter of Rage. We had the pleasure of hosting him in 2023 for his novel about the figure of Morgane Pendragon, a delight of rewriting!

This year we welcome him for the second part of his triptych on European mythologies with The Lovers of Ragnarök. This time he tackles Norse mythology and takes us into a famous mythological episode from a new angle. As the three-year winter comes to an end, Thor feels his death approaching. Refusing to accept it, the giantess Larnsaxa, his lover, embarks on a perilous quest. Along the way, she meets Jorunn, a blind musician from Ireland, who has come to Valhalla to say goodbye to her companion who fell during the Battle of Clontarf. Together, they have no choice but to face the approaching Ragnarök...
