Brice Cossu - illustrator - FRNCK, Goldorak

Biography & career
Born on January 1, 1982, in Revin, Brice Cossu developed a passion for drawing from childhood through Japanese animation such as Astro Boy. In 2000, after obtaining his high school diploma, he pursued a BTS in Visual Communication with a focus on graphic design, publishing, and advertising, where he won the 4th prize at the Mediterranean University Comic Strip Competition. His professional career truly began in 2006 when he presented his portfolio to Jean Wacquet and Mourad Boudjellal, before meeting Yves Swolfs, who entrusted him with the drawing of the one-shot Rémission in 2008 at Soleil. Between 2009 and 2013, he multiplied genre projects by taking over the fantasy series Paradis Perdu and signing Les Cauchemars de Terram, while collaborating on Le Dauphin, héritier des ténèbres and the heroic fantasy series La Geste des chevaliers dragons. He confirmed his talent for historical storytelling in 2011 with L'Enfant du Temple and then Le Chevalier à la croix in 2012, before integrating choral universes like Les Maîtres Inquisiteurs and working on Les Enquêtes du commissaire Raffini.
A turning point in his work
The major turning point came in 2017 with the launch at Dupuis of the youth series FRNCK, scripted by Olivier Bocquet, which follows a teenager thrown into prehistory and now has more than ten volumes. Alongside this success, he co-signed in 2021 with Alexis Sentenac the event album Goldorak published by Kana, a tribute sequel to the work of Go Nagai created with Xavier Dorison and Denis Bajram. An active member of the Virtual Workshop favoring digital exchanges, Brice Cossu is also involved in the extended universe of the World of Aquilon with Guerres d'Arran by drawing the 1st volume, thus consolidating his place as an essential illustrator in the contemporary Franco-Belgian scene.
With his lively and pleasant style, Brice Cossu showcases the extent of his talent in each of his albums.
Focus on FRNCK
In FRNCK, a 13-year-old orphan sets out to find his parents and finds himself in the midst of prehistory, inevitably having to do everything: invent fire, soap, vowels, and try to survive among monstrous creatures and thick-headed brutes...
"Frnck" is a grand humorous adventure with a real reflection on modernity and humanity.
